Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist

MSc Allied Health Professional Studies | BSc (Hons) Human Biology & Health Science | HCPC Registered | Chartered Physiotherapist

Charmaine is a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist at Mode Physiotherapy in Woodborough, Nottingham, bringing over a decade of dedicated experience in children’s musculoskeletal and spinal care. She holds an MSc in Allied Health Professional Studies and a BSc (Hons) in Human Biology and Health Science, qualifying as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2006.

Since 2010, Charmaine has focused exclusively on supporting newborns, children, and young people with a wide range of orthopaedic, developmental, and spinal conditions. Her practice is built on compassion, clear communication, and a commitment to restoring confidence, mobility, and function—whether a child is returning to sport or simply wanting to enjoy everyday play without pain.

Charmaine leads the paediatric musculoskeletal and spinal service within a large NHS organisation, where she manages complex caseloads and oversees advanced clinical pathways. Her extended responsibilities include:

  • Ordering MRI and X‑ray imaging
  • Requesting blood tests where clinically indicated
  • Running specialist clinics for complex paediatric MSK and spinal presentations
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary care for families navigating long‑term or complex conditions

Her clinical expertise spans:

  • Paediatric orthopaedics
  • Spinal assessment
  • Hypermobility spectrum conditions
  • Sports injuries in children and adolescents
  • Movement‑based rehabilitation

Charmaine is also trained in APPI Matwork Pilates (Levels 1 & 2), integrating structured movement, core control, and strength‑building techniques into her rehabilitation programmes to support long‑term physical development.

Outside of clinical practice, Charmaine enjoys time with her young family, cheering from the sidelines at football matches, and staying active through spin, reformer Pilates, and circuit‑based training.
