Emma Ratcliffe

Advanced Clinical Physiotherapist & Director

BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy | HCPC Registered | Chartered Physiotherapist

Emma is an Advanced Clinical Physiotherapist and Co‑Director of Mode Physiotherapy in Woodborough, Nottingham. She is an HCPC‑registered Physiotherapist and Chartered Physiotherapist, graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Coventry University.

Emma specialises in musculoskeletal assessment, advanced diagnostic reasoning, and the management of complex MSK conditions. She has completed multiple postgraduate MSc‑level modules, including Advanced Clinical Diagnostic Management, enabling her to screen for serious pathology, differentiate between MSK and non‑MSK causes of pain, and design clear, evidence‑based treatment plans.

Her extended scope includes:

  • Access to MRI and X‑ray referral pathways
  • Injection Therapy for joint and soft‑tissue conditions
  • Onward referral for orthopaedic procedures, including hip and knee replacement surgery

Emma has extensive clinical experience in spinal, hip, knee, and shoulder conditions, with a particular interest in Osteoarthritis management and long‑term joint health. Her approach is grounded in reassurance, clear communication, and ensuring every patient leaves their first appointment with a structured, personalised plan.

Outside of clinical practice, Emma enjoys time outdoors—hiking and camping in the Lake District and Peak District, and paddle boarding whenever she can. Her philosophy is simple and central to her practice: treat every patient with the same care and honesty you’d offer a family member.
