Chartered Physiotherapist Maria Levers

Maria Levers

Advanced Practice Physiotherapist

BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy | HCPC Registered | Chartered Physiotherapist

Maria is a Senior Physiotherapist at Mode Physiotherapy and works within the Occupational Health department of a major NHS trust. With over a decade of experience in musculoskeletal (MSK) rehabilitation, she provides expert assessment and tailored treatment for individuals managing joint, spinal, and soft‑tissue conditions.

She completed her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy through Coventry and Leicester Universities in 2010, following a Higher National Diploma in Sports Science (Sports Therapy). Her early NHS rotational posts gave her a broad clinical grounding, while her part‑time role with Leicester City Football Academy (2009–2011) strengthened her skills in athlete care, soft‑tissue treatment, and return‑to‑play planning.

Maria has specialised in MSK physiotherapy since 2013. She progressed into an Advanced Clinical Practitioner role, completing postgraduate modules in Extended Scope Practice (Coventry University) and Injection Therapy (University of Nottingham). These qualifications expanded her scope to include:

  • Advanced MSK assessment
  • Injection‑based treatment
  • Pharmacological understanding relevant to MSK care
  • Enhanced clinical reasoning for complex presentations

Her clinical interests include rehabilitation for hip, knee, shoulder, and spinal conditions, with a focus on restoring movement, strength, and long‑term function. Maria’s approach blends personalised exercise prescription with hands‑on treatment, reflecting Mode’s ethos of expert, compassionate, and patient‑centred care.

Outside of work, Maria enjoys supporting her children at football matches, walking her dogs in the countryside, staying active with HIIT and strength training, and horse riding—a passion she has pursued since childhood.
