Maria Levers

Chartered Physiotherapist

BSc Physiotherapy

Maria is a Senior Physiotherapist in Occupational Health at a large NHS organisation. She graduated from Coventry / Leicester University in 2010 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and prior to this she had completed a HND in Sports Science (Sports Therapy). After graduating she completed rotations in all core physiotherapy areas so has a broad-based knowledge and has also worked part time for the Leicester City football academy 2009-2011. Maria always knew she wanted to specialise in the Musculoskeletal setting, and she has been in this specialism since 2013.

Maria has worked in an Advanced clinical practice role and has completed master’s Modules at Coventry University ‘Extended Scope Practice’ and Nottingham University ‘Injection Therapy’. These modules have enabled her to confidently assess, diagnose and treat more complex conditions. The course included additional skills like diagnostic MRI and X-rays, bloods and pharmacology.  Maria therefore has the knowledge to know when investigations are appropriate and when medication or injection advice is required. She has a keen interest in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions such as hips, knees, spinal and shoulders.

Maria enjoys spending time with her family and at the weekends you will find Maria supporting her boys on the side lines while they play football. She also likes to walk her dogs in the countryside and enjoys doing HITT training and weights to keep herself fit and active. Maria’s main hobby has always been horse riding since the age of three.
