Deborah Anthony

Deborah is a highly experienced clinical specialist physiotherapist at Mode Physiotherapy, bringing over two decades of advanced MSK expertise alongside her ongoing role within a large acute NHS Trust.

She graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy more than 22 years ago, beginning her career across Neurology, Respiratory, Elective and Trauma in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She later dedicated her practice to MSK Outpatients, completing a Masters in Manual Therapy at the University of Nottingham, followed by postgraduate training in Extended Scope Practice, Injection Therapy, Sports Physiotherapy, and imaging referral rights for X‑ray and MRI within the NHS.

Alongside her clinical caseload, Deborah holds a Clinical Lead role across outpatients, trauma and elective surgery, supporting service development, audit, and pathway improvement. She has also worked extensively in Primary Care, managing GP‑referred and self‑referring patients, and has significant experience in post‑operative orthopaedic rehabilitation.

Deborah has particular clinical expertise in the hip, knee, spine and shoulder, and has delivered lectures and teaching on topics including Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis, ligament reconstruction rehabilitation, recurrent patella instability, and Enhanced Recovery Programmes for joint replacement surgery.

Her approach centres on clear communication, shared decision‑making, and thorough, evidence‑based assessment, ensuring every patient receives a structured and personalised treatment plan. Her broad inpatient and outpatient background within a major acute Trust underpins her commitment to improving the health, function and confidence of every patient she works with.

Outside of work, Deborah enjoys cycling, running, golf and the gym, as well as spending time with family and friends — especially keeping up with her two grandchildren.
